Wichita Clinic recruiters are not ‘head-hunters’. They are full-time employees of the clinic and are therefore, ‘in-house recruiters’. We recruit only for Wichita Clinic positions. We are not an agency or an agency 'headhunter'. Our recruiters are actively involved with the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR) and the Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas Physician Recruiting and Retention Network (MINK). These are professional associations whose members are 100% 'in-house' recruiters.
We prefer to locate and work with physicians directly without the assistance of an outside physician recruiting agency. We will, on occasion, work with agencies on a contingent basis.
What is the weather like in Wichita? Do you have tornados?
In Wichita we enjoy all four seasons. Our winters are mild with relatively light snow. Our summers are hot and dry. We typically have 2-3 weeks of very cold winter weather and 2-3 weeks of very hot summer weather with more moderate temperatures between. We’re graced with frequent winds that cross the plains year around.
Contrary to the beliefs of some, Kansas is the sixth most frequently hit state when it comes to tornados. To offset this threat, we boast an excellent warning system in place throughout the area enhanced through the cooperation of local radio and television stations. Homes in the area often have basements that offer further protection during inclement weather. Ask us for more details.
What if I don’t see my specialty listed with your open positions?
If you don’t see your specialty listed in our current open positions, feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail or submit your CV. It is not unusual for open positions to be in the works or for us to give consideration to candidates before the positions are formally opened.
If you’ve submitted a CV to us, it will be given consideration automatically when a position opens in your specialty. If you have questions about this, just ask. We’re happy to take your calls.
How do you prefer me to submit my CV?
Our preference is to receive your CV electronically (via e-mail) as a Microsoft Word document. Of course, we’re happy to receive your CV by fax or regular mail if that is your preference.
Is it possible for you to contact me outside of normal business hours?
We regularly contact physicians in the evenings and on weekends for your convenience and would be glad to arrange to speak with you at your convenience. It always helps us to know what your preference is regarding the phone number and time that is best to contact you. Just include the information when you send your CV.
I don’t want my colleagues to know I’m looking at other positions. Will you keep my information confidential?
We will absolutely keep your inquiries confidential. We understand and respect the position you may be in if you are currently in practice. Please let us know when you have special requests in this regard. We’ll discuss this with you in detail.
How big is Wichita, Kansas?
Wichita’s population is around 350,000. If you include the surrounding suburbs and metropolitan statistical area, the population is around 500,000.
We consider Wichita a mid-sized city. Large enough to provide the things you need and most of the things you may want, but small enough to travel easily throughout the city and enjoy small-town friendliness.
